Aravidu dynasty in the 11th century. There are two separate Mahals (Palaces) in
the Chandragiri Fort. The main Palace is known as the Kings Palace (Raja Mahal)
and the other part is known as the Queens Palace (Rani Mahal). Although both
the Palaces have a similar architecture, there is uniqueness about each part.
Situated at a distance of about 20 km from the Tirupati, the fort is the major
tourist attraction in Andhra Pradesh and people from all over the country come

Current Scenario: Currently, the fort has been converted
into an archeological museum which consists of a large collection of sculptures
and artifacts from ancient Indian history. The large collection of idols and

Golcondas. Golcondas are the ones who reside in the fort last and after that,

only to pay homage to the famous Tirupati shrine but also visit this popular
historic site. This fort has a popular lights show in the evening time. In the

This light show occurs in the Raja Mahal, as tourists are not allowed to enter
most parts of the Rani Mahal. Tourists have to buy tickets to watch the lights
show. Photography is not allowed inside of the museum. The crowning pillars
look beautiful and the ornaments which decorate the Queens Palace are more than
just beautiful.
